The contributions to this book were presented at the conference Active Flow Controlheld September, at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.

The conference was organized by the Collaborative Research Center SFB ‘Control of complex turbulent shear flows’, which is funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation). Applications of flow control to current and next-generation air vehicle systems, including fixed wing airfoils, turbomachinery, combustion, aeroacoustics, vehicle propulsion integration, and rotorcraft are discussed.
